Photo Recovery App Privacy Policy

Effective Date: October 11, 2025

Welcome to the Photo Recovery App (hereinafter referred to as the "App").

This Privacy Policy (hereinafter referred to as the "Policy") applies to all users of this App (hereinafter referred to as "you"). This Policy details how we collect, use, store, and share your personal information, as well as your rights regarding your personal information.

Personal Information: refers to any type of information recorded electronically or otherwise that can identify a specific individual, either alone or when combined with other information. This includes, but is not limited to, device identifiers and usage history (anonymized information is not included).

Anonymized Information: refers to personal information that has been processed using technical means to render it unidentifiable and cannot be restored to its original, identifiable form under reasonable technical conditions. This information no longer falls under the category of "Personal Information" and we may freely use and disclose it in accordance with laws and regulations.

Information We Collect

Storage Permission: To scan and recover deleted files, this App requires access to your device's storage to identify recoverable photos, videos, and audio files. These operations are performed entirely locally on your device; neither the original nor the restored files are uploaded to our servers.

Device Parameters: To ensure stable operation across different devices, we collect the device model, operating system version, and installed version number of the app. This data is used only to adapt the app to different device configurations and fix compatibility issues (such as recovery issues caused by system versions) and does not contain any information that directly identifies you.

Usage Data: This includes information such as the duration of your app sessions, the duration of a single session, the time spent on each feature page, and the frequency of feature clicks. This data is anonymized (removing any personally identifiable identifiers) and is used only to analyze service shortcomings (such as cumbersome operation of a feature) and optimize functionality.

Permission Usage History: When you enable or disable permissions required by the app (such as storage permissions and foreground service permissions), we record changes in permission status. This is done solely to troubleshoot functional anomalies (such as scan failures due to disabled storage permissions) and to provide guidance on setting permissions if you encounter any issues.

Information about third-party SDKs: This app integrates third-party SDKs (such as Google Admob and Facebook Audience Network) that collect the following information: Google Advertising ID (Android), device type, and data used for advertising and marketing analytics. Some SDKs may store or read cookies to record user interaction preferences with ads. The Android Advertising Identifier is used only for personalized ad recommendations and performance analysis and is not associated with sensitive data such as user identity information or document content. All automatically collected data is used solely to improve product experience and optimize advertising effectiveness. It is only transmitted to certified third-party analytics platforms, such as Firebase and Facebook Analytics, and will not be sold to other third parties.

Purpose of Information Use

The core purpose of our use of collected information is to ensure service quality, optimize user experience, and protect your legal rights and interests. This includes: promptly responding to and addressing your feedback to ensure smooth communication and proper resolution of issues; leveraging device and network information to ensure stable service operation across different devices, systems, and network environments, and improving cross-scenario compatibility; optimizing feature layout, operational processes, and product performance through analysis of usage behavior data to enhance app usability; leveraging third-party tools to analyze your advertising preferences to improve ad targeting and reduce distractions from irrelevant ads; monitoring app abnormalities and network environments in real time to prevent security risks and protect information security; using data insights to plan feature updates, develop new services tailored to your needs, and continuously improve product quality; and strictly ensuring that information use complies with legal and regulatory requirements, fulfilling our privacy protection obligations, and safeguarding your legal rights and interests.

Information Retention

We will retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy. If laws and regulations require longer retention periods (such as to cooperate with regulatory investigations or fulfill legal obligations), we will extend the retention period accordingly.

Information Security

To protect the security of your personal information, we employ standard industry security measures, including encryption during data transmission and storage, as well as strict access control mechanisms. These measures mitigate the risk of unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction of your personal information. While we have implemented these reasonable and necessary security measures, we cannot completely eliminate all potential security risks due to objective factors such as the complexity of the network environment and the limitations of technological development. If an information security incident occurs due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our reasonable control, such as force majeure or cyberattacks, we will promptly and fully assist in resolving the issue, but we assume no liability.

Information Storage and Transfer

Your personal information will be stored on servers located in the United States or the European Union, with the specific storage location determined based on your region of use. For EU users, if your personal information is transferred to servers outside the EU (e.g., in the United States), such transfers will fully comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and utilize EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) to ensure consistent data protection standards before and after transfer, safeguarding your information rights.

Information Sharing and External Disclosure

We strictly limit the external circulation of information and will never use your personal information for purposes not specified in this Policy. Information disclosure may occur only in the following special circumstances:

With Your Active Authorization: If you explicitly consent to sharing your information with a third party.

Necessary Service Collaboration: We may entrust third-party service providers to provide technical support (such as app crash analysis and server maintenance). These partners will only have access to anonymized information necessary to complete their work (such as de-identified device models) and must comply with our information protection requirements. They may not use or disclose it without authorization.

Legal Circumstances: To comply with laws and regulations or respond to lawful requests from government agencies (such as investigating illegal and criminal activities), we may disclose relevant information in accordance with the law. However, we will strive to strictly limit the scope of disclosure to only the information necessary to fulfill the request.

Advertising Service Description

To better match advertising content with your needs, we may use some user data to deliver targeted ads within our apps. However, please note that not all personal data will be used for advertising purposes. Only non-sensitive data related to advertising preferences (such as device advertising identifiers and basic usage behavior) will be used. The specific data usage boundaries will strictly comply with this policy and the rules of our advertising partners.

Some partner advertising service providers may use two technical methods to optimize ad display performance: first, using cookies to store your ad interaction history (such as whether you clicked on a certain type of ad); and second, using behavioral retargeting to track your in-app interests (such as a preference for utility or lifestyle ads). Ultimately, this information is used to deliver more relevant advertising content. For more information on the specific data processing practices of an advertising service provider, please refer directly to their official privacy policy.

We fully respect your right to control your advertising preferences. You can opt out of personalized advertising and choose whether to receive interest-based advertising content by following the steps below:

Go to your phone's system settings and enable the "Opt out of ads personalization" feature (some devices may indicate this as "Turn off personalized ad recommendations"). Important Note: This action will also reset your device's advertising ID. After the reset, personalized ads based on your historical interest tags will no longer be displayed. Only generic ads will be displayed. This setting does not affect the core functionality of the app.

Analytics Service Description

To continuously optimize app performance and enhance your user experience, we use professional analytics services to analyze app performance data and user behavior. The specific rules and details are as follows:

Our core goal in using analytics services is to address service pain points and optimize the product experience. We monitor app traffic data to understand service load and avoid issues like lag and crashes. We track user behavior to identify user pain points and implement targeted performance improvements and streamlined processes.

We primarily use Firebase for analytics. It's important to note that Firebase Analytics may share data with other tools within the Firebase ecosystem. This sharing is solely for the purpose of optimizing services. For example, user behavior data may be combined with crash reporting tools to quickly identify the specific cause of a crash triggered by a specific action; feature usage data may be linked to the Remote Config tool to automatically optimize feature parameters based on user behavior; or push data from the Notification tool may be combined to analyze the impact of push content on user engagement. All data sharing occurs within the Firebase ecosystem and strictly adheres to Google's data protection regulations.

To ensure the proper operation of Firebase Analytics, we obtain necessary data through the following technical means:

Mobile device identifiers: This includes the Google Advertising ID for Android devices and the Advertising Identifier (IDFA) for iOS devices. These identifiers are used only to associate device-level behavioral data.

Local storage technologies, such as cookies, ensure the continuity of analytical data by storing short-term logs locally on your device, helping us accurately reconstruct feature usage flows and identify performance issues.

The data Firebase collects about you during the analytics process is non-sensitive information necessary for service optimization. Specifically, it includes:

IP address: used only to locate your approximate region and assist in analyzing differences in service usage across different regions;

Cookie data: the aforementioned "local storage logs similar to cookies," which record short-term, single-session feature usage details;

Advertising unique device identifiers: Android advertising IDs and iOS advertising identifiers, used for device-level behavior correlation and statistics;

Usage data: covers basic user activity on app features, such as clicks on "Scan" and "Restore," duration of stay on various pages, and success/failure results.
